The prefix Lapsewood was first registered in the UK back in 1970 when Gary was involved with showing and breeding Irish Setters, judging at Open show level and for a number of years serving on the committee of the Crystal Palace Canine Assn.
In 1989 along with the move to New Zealand came the purchase of his first Great Dane. Bronson was the start of Gary and John's love for this wonderful breed and although Bronson died at the tender age of 5 he remains etched in their hearts forever.
Gary and John live on a 4 acre property 30 kms north of Auckland city which they share with their Great Danes, Bloodhounds and a Maine Coon cat.
Gary has served as both Secretary and Vice President of The Great Dane Club Inc and is a committee member of the North Shore Kennel Assn. Gary also serves on the Executive Council of the New Zealand Kennel Club.
